The lower end of each range is a G (or S) 2WD car; the upper end is a Z Leather 4WD car or, from 2025, the special-edition Night Shade. 2021–2022 buyers are usually on a budget, so we price grade 4 cars with up to about 150,000 km; from 2023 we price cleaner cars, and 2024-and-newer prices are for low-mileage grade 4.5 cars. Harriers made in 2020 or earlier can no longer be imported. 4WD costs about ৳2 Lakh more than 2WD.

Many buyers are surprised that the petrol Harrier costs more than the hybrid in Bangladesh. The reason is customs duty: the 2.0 L petrol engine falls in a much higher duty slab than the 2.5 L hybrid, so the duty alone is several lakh taka more.

S – the base grade

What Changed on the Harrier: 2020 to 2026
- June 2020: the all-new 80 series goes on sale with a 2.0 L petrol engine and a 2.5 L hybrid.
- October 2022: an improvement for the petrol and hybrid models – better safety (collision braking that now works at junction turns and for pedestrians in crossings), a 12.3-inch display and new meter on Z and above, and a price increase of around ¥108,000–138,000. The G Leather Package was dropped.
- October 2022: the plug-in hybrid (AXUP85) joins the range with an 18.1 kWh battery and about 93 km of electric range (Toyota figure). It is sold in the Z grade, with a few G cars appearing later.
- 2025: the Night Shade special edition appears and sells at the highest prices at auction.
- 2026–2027: reports say Toyota Japan has dropped the 2.0 L petrol and the plug-in hybrid, so the newest Harriers are hybrid only. Very few 2026 cars have reached auction yet, so 2026 and 2027 prices are partly an estimate.
Which Harrier Should You Buy?
- Lowest budget (about ৳58 – 68 Lakh): a 2021 hybrid G or Z. A 2021 must be imported before December 2026.
- Best value (about ৳65 – 82 Lakh): a 2023–2024 hybrid Z or Z Leather – the improved safety and 12.3-inch display, with moderate mileage.
- Want the newest (৳90 Lakh and up): a 2025–2026 hybrid, or the Night Shade, or the plug-in hybrid if you can charge at home.
- Do not want a hybrid battery: the 2.0 L petrol – but check duty and price first.
Fuel Economy and Running Cost in Bangladesh
- The 2.5 L hybrid gives the best fuel economy of the Harriers – a small family can easily run it daily in Dhaka traffic.
- Annual BRTA tax: the 2.5 L hybrid and 2.0 L petrol fall in the 1,501–2,500 cc brackets.

What to Check Before Buying a Reconditioned Harrier
- Chassis code, grade and mileage on the auction sheet – the real mileage, not what a seller says.
- Hybrid battery health and warning lights on the dashboard.
- Accident repair notes on the sheet (panels, repainting) and the underbody.
- Sunroof cars: check the seals and that the glass opens smoothly.

এরপর দেখা যায় ভুল চেসিস নম্বর দেওয়া হয়েছে, মাইলেজ ট্যাম্পারিং হয়েছে। এমনও ঘটে যে একটা চেসিস নম্বরের রিপোর্ট দেখানো হয়েছিল, যেখানে গাড়িটা ৪.৫ গ্রেডের ভালো, কিন্তু হাতে আসে অন্য একটা গাড়ি – কাস্টমার ৬ মাস পর দেখেন চেসিস নম্বর আলাদা। আবার কেউ কেউ খারাপ অকশন হাউস থেকে গাড়ি কিনে কাস্টমারকে ধরিয়ে দেয়।
